Dutch police have arrested three more suspects in connection with an explosion at a synagogue in Rotterdam and a planned attack on a synagogue in Heemstede, the public prosecution service said on Friday afternoon.

The suspects are a 20-year-old man from Tilburg and a 23-year-old man from Amsterdam, both suspected of involvement in the Rotterdam incident, and an 18-year-old man from Amsterdam who is accused of preparing an attack in Heemstede. All three are Dutch nationals.

Two weeks ago, a small fire broke out at the entrance to a synagogue on ABN Davidsplein in Rotterdam following an explosion. No one was injured.

The police have already arrested five teenagers over their suspected role in the Rotterdam attack. Two other teenagers were detained earlier in connection with the planned attack in Heemstede.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities have not released further details about the suspects or a possible motive.

Earlier this week, Amsterdam police published footage of one of the two men suspected of planting explosives outside an office complex in the city’s Zuidas business district on March 16.

They are also still looking for two men who were filmed planting an explosive outside a Jewish school in Amsterdam on March 14.

Those two attacks were claimed by an Islamic group calling itself Harakat Ashab Al Yamin Al Islamiyya.
